![]() ![]() Some routers don't implement this properly and won't route messages back, resulting in a handshake failure. For this the router needs to know your external IP address and whenever it detects you're trying to access your own IP address, it is supposed to route the messages back to you locally. If it still doesn't work it can hint at your router failing to route messages from your client back to your server. Make sure that you properly configured the game port to be opened (UDP and TCP). One likely reason, especially in the case where you want to connect to a server hosted on your very local computer (exactly the same where you play the game), is your router configuration or your router itself. It's supposed to be exchanging data to allow the game to start properly. The general handshake failure indicates a problem with your client trying to get the connection set up with your server. ![]()
